Do people having allergy medication have side effect?

The factor which determines the effectiveness of the drug and the side effects related with it differs from one person to another and the side effects are triggered even more when substances such as alcohol or caffeine are taken. Side effect is not only confined to the inconvenience but it is much more than that. Intake of allergy medications can lead to drowsiness due to which there are increased chances of road accidents or the mental state of the person may not be proper. Due to intake of antihistamines which is used for preventing allergic symptoms by blocking the histamine receptors also causes drowsiness and sometimes headache or dizziness may also be reported.  Another medicine known as decongestants which are used for shrinking the nasal tissues and blood vessels which get swelled at the time of allergic reaction has a side effect resulting in increase in the blood pressure or it may also give rise to insomnia. Intake of corticosteroids causes bleeding from the nose and irritation in the nose and if eye drops are used then it may blurred the vision. While taking drugs for treating allergic symptoms, it is necessary to consult doctor so as to track the side effects which can occur due to the intake of the drugs.
