Allergy testing and hair

There are many kinds of unconventional tests available which can help in diagnosing various health problems. One such allergy test is hair analysis. Hair analysis helps in finding out the presence of food allergies. In most cases, advice regarding such tests is given by alternative treatment medical practitioner. These tests may give beneficial results to find out the allergies, but the thing that, such tests are based on unproven theories. And thus, many people do not rely on allergy testing with hair. The most reliable and popular allergy tests are skin prick and blood sample tests. However, hair testing is done to find out the levels of heavy metals like lead and mercury. It also helps in finding the deficiency in zinc, chromium and selenium. However, there are no evidences to support that presence or deficiency in such heavy metals can have any effect on allergy. Dowsing is also one of the hair and allergy testing method. However, this test does not offer much reliability and accuracy. Once hair analysis is done, the health practitioner would suggest a few changes in diet and lifestyle as a cure for allergy and bring the balance of health back in the original state.
