Food allergy drugs

Although there are a host of drugs available for the treatment of food allergy, it is best if the allergy is avoided by not taking the foods which are likely to contain the allergens. However, in cases when one does come across an allergen and develops an allergy, drugs are needed so that the condition can be improved. Some of the common drugs used in food allergy are listed below:

Usually, the preferable drug is epinephrine but it is advisable that the patient be given immediate medical care in case of anaphylaxis. It is best to consult the doctor as far as drugs are concerned. Over the counter medications should be avoided as they cannot be trusted completely.
