Leukotriene Inhibitors: Do they have any side effect?

Leukotriene inhibitors are medications for treating allergies by blocking the activity of Leukotriene; they also reduce the production of Leukotriene. Production of Leukotriene leads to hypersensitivity to a few allergens. Leukotriene helps our bronchial tubes from constriction and reduces chances of allergy. Studies have found that Leukotriene Inhibitors are well tolerable by our body. But, there are a few side effects along with the intake of this drug. The most common side effects of these Inhibitors are headache (mild and severe). The chances of occurrence of these headaches are between 18-19% after the intake of these inhibitors. Children who consume these inhibitors and are under the age of 12 are the worst sufferers of this headache. Some people also witness rashes over their skin after consumption of Leukotriene Inhibitors. Consumption of Leukotriene Inhibitors might create several psychological disorders as well. Some of them like depressions, increased fatigue and frequent mood swing in the user of these inhibitors. Some users also witness abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and heartburn after the consumption. Symptoms like flu, itching, and dental pain are also experienced by few users. Puss in urine is also marked in some cases but that is rare.
