What is nasal allergy? |
The other term used for nasal allergy is allergic rhinitis. Nasal allergy is the hypersensitive reactions that are caused by various factors which are actually harmless. These factors may be pollens, animal dander, and environmental factors. Nasal allergies may be seasonal or they will be with you for all the year round in which case they are termed as perennial nasal allergies. Nasal allergy symptoms include sneezing, runny and itchy nose and red and watery eyes. Nasal allergies are also responsible for sore throats, stomach problems and headaches. Some people also complain about persistent tiredness and nasal allergy might be the reason for that. Even though, these symptoms are not life threatening, they definitely create disturbances in your routine. In some severe cases, nasal allergy may be responsible for sleeplessness, dizziness, loss of concentration and many more discomforts. When the symptoms are mild, the symptoms will come under control with antihistamines with or without decongestants. But when there is nasal inflammation too then there will also be need to take anti-inflammatory medications. Apart from the conventional medications certain natural remedies like aromatherapy, using vitamin C supplements, ginger tea and chamomile tea may bring some relief in the health condition. |
