How Eyebright works in the treatment of allergies?
An Allergy is an exaggerated response by the immune system of the body in reaction with certain foreign substances that reaches the body. Most of the time, these foreign substances cause allergies and are known as allergens. Some of the allergens are dust mites, pollens, molds, certain foods and danders. When an allergen moves into the body, the immune system acts as though the foreign substance was an unsafe germ, and start to fight against it by releasing special chemicals, which are called as antibodies. These antibodies fight with the allergens and destroy it. The release of antibodies causes the symptoms and is known as an allergic reaction. Eyebright contains anti allergic and antibacterial properties which helps to cure allergies caused by any allergic agents. For the treatment of allergy, four grams of dried Eyebright stems are soaked in a cupful of water for 10 minutes, then boil it for few minutes and filter and cool it. Patients are advised to drink this tea once in a day for one week. |
